Cinderella Press Conference

July 4th, 2008 by pinkingrid
I was so delighted to have attended the press conference of Broadway Asia Entertainment’s CINDERELLA starring our very own Ms. Lea Salonga.

Watching the introductory video made me more thrilled to see the musical! Playing the part of Prince Christopher is Australian stage actor Peter Saide. The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic will be under the direction of Bobby Garcia, who just finished Avenue Q.

Lea and Peter performed "Ten Minutes Ago" one of the beautiful song numbers featured in the musical. I also got to hang out with DJ Tracy 0.0.and Lambert from Jam. We were all there to work but we definitely had fun interviewing and posing for pictures.

Cinderella will be on stage at CCP’s Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theatre) from July 29, 2008-August 24, 2008. For ticket inquiries and schedules, you may visit www.ticketworld.com.ph.

Meeting Multiply co-founder David Hersh

July 3rd, 2008 by pinkingrid
I remember signing up for an account on Multiply around 2004, after hearing it from a tv host. Admittedly, I was so clueless at first. I didn’t know how to name my albums but I was confident that I had a site where I could keep anything and everything.

Other than the photo albums and blogging, I liked the fact that you could announce events or post appointments just so you won’t forget. It’s been a fantastic experience since then and I’m liking the fact that it keeps getting better and better. They also got into the whole online video-sharing wave and made video uploading/sharing so much easier.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that I was meeting one of the founders of Multiply.com…
Mr. David Hersh–a young, thirty-something professional who started the company with his college friends. During our talk, he said that he didn’t think Multiply would become what it is today. Well, David and company, all I can say is CONGRATULATIONS! Great job!

Take a look at these photos:

Thank you MULTIPLY.COM! I’d also like to express my appreciation to Rex and Paolo from ABS-CBN (NOW!) for coordinating everything.

Shanghai China Trip Day 3–The Silk Museum

July 3rd, 2008 by pinkingrid
Just like the second day, we all woke up early to get ready for a day of touring. Of course, I looked forward to breakfast again. Our first stop was the Silk Museum where we were shown how silk is made.

We start with the worms…

And how they get silk from them.

SHANGHAI CHINA DAY 2–Afternoon Shopping

July 3rd, 2008 by pinkingrid
I was not able to take photos of our shopping escapade at the Xing Yang market (or whatever it’s called) because we were told to be extra alert, pick pockets were everywhere. Before going to Shanghai, I asked a Chinese friend about the conversion rate of RMB-Peso para may reference point ako. Hay naku people, as much as you can make tawad in Shanghai, I’d have to say mura pa rin sa Divisoria! Hahaha :)

The park above the shopping market. Of course, we had to take pictures.

SHANGHAI CHINA DAY 2–Exploring the Shanghai Historical Museum

July 3rd, 2008 by pinkingrid
To save you some precious scrolling time, I have compiled the photos in a slide show. Enjoy our trip inside the wax museum! Some areas were ribboned off so I couldn’t interact with the other characters. This is acting at it’s finest! Hahaha! Kidding.

SHANGHAI CHINA TRIP DAY 2

July 3rd, 2008 by pinkingrid
I have a truckload of photos from Day 2, but I figured you may not have the patience to look through everything if I post them all here. So we started the day with a delicious buffet breakfast at our hotel:

Then, we got on the bus to start off our day tour.

This is Shirley, one of our tour guides.

SHANGHAI CHINA TRIP Day 1

July 3rd, 2008 by pinkingrid
I know I haven’t posted anything in a few days as I was trying to gather and schedule things. Last week, I spent an entire weekend with my friends/co-workers Regina and Trina in Shanghai, China courtesy of Studio 23.

Boarding pass/E-ticket

I welcomed the Shanghai 4-day tour with open arms because I haven’t taken a real break in two years. As you know, if you are working in the media, you don’t usually get holidays off. We still go to work even if everyone’s at home, so thank you Regina!

Now, let me tell you that I am not very fluent in Chinese be it Mandarin, Fookien or Cantonese. I just knew that as soon as I set foot in China, things would be different. I’d have to be more observant and careful due to the language and cultural differences. Here are photos of us in the airport:

Our flight was delayed for two hours because we had a little engine trouble–scary! So, in order to NOT get bored, I decided to take snapshots of the instruction card in front of my seat.

Um, airline food. Yay (???)

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN

May 29th, 2008 by pinkingrid

I
can’t write a serious review now. All I can say is: Ang pogi ni Prince
Caspian and Queen Susan was so lucky to kiss him. Hahaha OMG.

HELLO!!! Hello?!!! Hello!

Mellow DJs meeting

May 29th, 2008 by pinkingrid
We
DJs rarely see each other on a daily basis due to our different time
slots. I see our morning jocks JP and Angel about 2 or 3 times a week
if they don’t leave right after their show. I see Chris and Chloe
everyday since they board right after I do. As for Mr Pure Energy
Marco… his presence is so strong, that I feel it even if he boards
four hours after I do. Here are some snapshots during our recent DJ
meeting with our head, Drew.
